Museum of Contemporary Art in Milan by Daniel Libeskind
Plans have been approved for Daniel Libeskind‘s new museum of contemporary art to be located within the citylife plan on the former fiera grounds in Milan, Italy. Five square floor plates rotate with each successive level generating a fluid geometry. Influenced by Leonardo da Vinci’s proportions of the vitruvian man, the twisting form promotes the visionary design, fashion and furniture work that has become internalized within the milanese lifestyle. MVRDV win competition for China Comic and Animation Museum
Hangzhou urban planning bureau has announced MVRDV winner of the international design competition for the China Comic and Animation Museum (CCAM) in Hangzhou, China. MVRDV won with a design referring to the speech balloon: a series of eight balloon shaped volumes create an internally complex museum experience of in total 30.000m2. Part of the project is also a series of parks on islands, a public plaza and a 13.000m2 expo centre. Construction start is envisioned for 2012, the total budget is 92 million Euro. Read More »

Guangdong Museum by Rocco Design Architects
The Guangdong Museum is one of four major cultural landmark buildings for the new financial hub in Zhujiang Xincheng (Pearl River New Town) of Guangzhou. Rocco Design Architects Ltd. was announced winner of an international invited competition in May 2004 and was subsequently appointed as design architect of the project.
